I will be giving a paper (bit scary!) at an Anthropology and Photography conference at the British Museum (29th-31st May 2014). The title of my paper is ‘Pilgrims and passers-by, a photographer’s perspective: anthropological approaches in fine art and documentary photography practice’. I will be looking at how some photographers are using ethnographic research methods in their practice to enrich their work. I’ll also be examining the representation of pilgrims and tourists in contemporary photography.
