I’ve just returned from the Rencontres d’Arles where this year’s theme was ‘Arles in Black.’ Highlights included the Gordon Parks show (what an amazingly charismatic man with such strength of soul) and the intriguing Mister G (Gilbert Garcin), who only discovered photography in his 60s and has been taking cleverly conceptual and witty black and white photographs ever since. I’ll be back next year for more rosé in the sun and inspiring photography.
